Who is HMRD?
The Heart Mountain Roller Derby league’s mission is to bring the sport of roller derby to the Big Horn Basin of Wyoming. We are focused on promoting health, athleticism and leadership among our members and giving back to our community. We are a nonprofit 501 3(c).
HMRD subscribes to the ‘by the skaters, for the skaters’ ethic, which means we are an all volunteer league. All dues and revenues pay for bouts/events, other HMRD expenses and/or is donated to charity. We follow the rules of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) and expect all members to adhere to the requirements set forth by WFTDA. At this time, we do not hold tryouts for league membership as membership is open to the public. We have opportunities for both men and women, on and off of the track and will find a place on the team for all those willing to participate.
As a non-profit organization, we have named the Park County 4-H program as recipient of all proceeds from the sale of team equipment should our organization disband.
Learning and adhering to the League policies, procedures, rules and skills is expected by all members.
